This course focuses on population-based intelligence models to simulate biological evolution for stochastic search. Necessary algorithm design considerations including representations, cost functions, and credit assignment mechanisms. The course will primarily focus on three main paradigms: Genetic Algorithms, Genetic Programming. Special attention will be given to co-evolution, multi- objective optimization and automatic program decomposition.
