PHYS 3553
Stellar Astrophysics
Beginning with binary stars as tools for determining stellar properties, we then discuss spectral classification. The physics underlying stellar models is developed and hydrogen-burning stars like the Sun are discussed. Students will have the opportunity to complete observing projects in the Acadia Observatory. Prerequisite(s): PHYS 2113 or PHYS 2123, PHYS 2413 or PHYS 2423. Corequisite(s): PHYS 3343 and PHYS 3433.
