Politics Passport

Undergraduate

In this course, political learning is put into practice. Students will engage in some form(s) of “political activity,” broadly defined. Engagement includes attending, participating in, organizing, and publicly commenting on political events of various kinds. Students will document their engagement, which will then be verified by a faculty member for their passport. Required for Politics majors and the Certificate in Democratic Leadership; not open to non-majors. POLS 2003: Introduction to Public Policy and Public Good This course examines the notion of a “public” and asks: what’s the role of government in a liberal democratic society? Students are introduced to the public policy process with a focus on how issues emerge, ideas are framed, priorities are established, and agendas are set and managed.
