ANTHRO 215B
Advanced Seminar in Medical Anthropology
This seminar is the second in a two-seminar sequence, following upon Anthropology 215A. Anthropology 215A is not required to enroll in 215B, though we strongly encourage the taking of both seminars. 215B focuses on the study of clinical medicine in the contemporary world, engaging a series of problematizations and bodies of empirical and conceptual work. Students without 215A or its equivalent will be offered an intensive additional session during the first two weeks of the course to review core debates covered in that course: this session will not in any way be a summary of the intensive training in 215A, but it will serve as a bridge enabling students to do additional reading in the 215A syllabus as their research interests dictate.
