Expanding Print: Projects in Experimental Printmaking
This course supports ambitious studio work across varied print media, encouraging an interdisciplinary approach to printmaking. While exploring traditional and experimental techniques, the class centers on developing, editing, and realizing your ideas. We will use free or low-cost, non-toxic, and concept-driven methods informed by DIY, political, and underground print histories. Through readings, writing, discussion, and critique, we will look beyond the matrix to consider print in contemporary art. Students will create a long-term project in any medium, with experimentation encouraged. No prerequisites required.
