Graphic Fiction
This course introduces students to the art and craft of graphic fiction, blending creative writing with visual storytelling to bring original narratives to life. Students will learn to develop characters, structure stories for the graphic form, and write effective storyboards that pair text with images. In doing so, they will explore elements such as paneling, pacing, dialogue, and point of view. Through reading contemporary graphic fiction, hands-on writing exercises, and peer collaboration, students will experiment with different styles and genres while building an original piece of graphic fiction that demonstrates both narrative imagination and an understanding of the genre's unique language.
