Master of Climate Solutions Capstone Spring: Implementing Real‑World Climate Solutions
In this second‑semester capstone, students execute real‑world climate solutions projects with external organizations (companies, NGOs, public agencies, startups). The emphasis is on implementation and scaling, not a traditional consulting course.Projects may be completed individually (solo) or in teams. Students scope a problem with a sponsor, engage stakeholders on a regular cadence, and deliver an actionable product (e.g., an executive deck and—if appropriate—an accompanying report or model).
Topics
- Define and scope a sponsor‑approved Statement of Work (SOW) with objectives, milestones, and deliverables. · Engage stakeholders via biweekly check‑ins and a midpoint review; refine scope and approach based on feedback. · Deliver a professional‑grade product (e.g., ~25‑slide executive deck; optional report) with clear, actionable recommendations. · Demonstrate professional conduct (confidentiality, responsiveness, ethics) in external collaborations. · Reflect on career application and articulate skills gained and next steps.
