Data Science and Machine Learning Fundamentals
The Data Science and Machine Learning Fundamentals course provides an introduction to machine learning in the context of data science. By the end of the course, students will know how to clean, visualize, and model real world datasets using basic machine learning techniques. The course assumes a familiarity with the Python programming language.
Topics
- Early in the course, we will explore how linear models can be used to solve two of the most important problems in machine learning: Regression and Classification. Along the way, we will learn some important concepts that allow us to avoid overfitting in our models. At the end of the course, we will discuss some practical skills for using and visualizing real world datasets.
- After the course, students will be able to model and understand real world data and tell insightful and accurate stories about what they discover.
