Geophysical Methods for Shallow Ground Investigations
This seminar explores case histories of geophysical methods for shallow ground investigations. Topics include using geophysics to characterize soil profiles, rockhead, slope/retaining wall stability, water leakage, and buried contaminants. The course covers selecting, instrumenting, and possible limitations of techniques like ground-penetrating radar, seismic wave spectral analysis, electrical imaging, microgravity, gamma spectroscopy, and infrared thermography.
