Proseminar in German Literature

The course will give a brief introduction to the history of <Germanistik>, draw attention to bibliographical and research tools, dwell on problems relating to critical editions of modern authors, familiarize students with <Germanistik> as a profession in the U.S.A., and focus upon literary theory. Required of all M.A. candidates.
