Special Topics in Israeli Arts and Culture
This course offers an interdisciplinary introduction to a variety of topics across Israeli arts and culture, examining how cinema, literature, poetry, music, and visual arts reflect and shape Israeli society. Through these diverse materials, students will gain insight into how Israeli artists, broadly conceived, confront issues of memory, displacement, religious and ethnic identity, regional and global relations, and collective national experience. By the end of the semester, students will develop a deeper understanding of the dynamic interplay between art, identity, and political expression in Israel today.
