This course concerns the Indigenous languages of California; their striking diversity and how it came to be; how linguists have course, analyzed, and used them, and how in turn they have affected the course of linguistics; and how Indigenous people have used, continue to use, and have reclaimed these languages. In this seminar you will hear Indigenous and non-Indigenous voices.
