Digital Storytelling: Computation, Crisis and Catastrophe
This course introduces students to the history and practice of digital storytelling. Students will develop skills through the production of a creative digital storytelling project. No prior skills or knowledge are required, but experienced students will be supported to make more advanced projects. Students will develop projects featuring interactivity, social media, scrollytelling, hypertext, digital illustration or visual art, StoryMaps, or other natively digital forms and practices. Exploring ideas around crisis and catastrophe, students will experiment with digital storytelling techniques to extend their work into fiction, creative non-fiction, and other experimental modes.
