Federal Pathways to Public Service
This course offers an orientation to U.S. government and careers in federal public service. It is designed to prepare 15 students who have been selected to participate in the Institute of Governmental Studies’ Pathways to Federal Public Service Fellowship Program to succeed in summer internships in or alongside federal government. We will examine policymaking and governance at the federal level from an introductory perspective, including the institutions that make up the three branches of federal government, how law and policy are made, and the different sets of actors and decision makers engaged in the policymaking process.
