UGBA 196SC
Foundations of Corporate Sustainability
This course introduces students to the foundational concepts, tools, and frameworks used to lead sustainability within organizations. The course explores how companies create long-term value by addressing environmental and social risks. We will examine global frameworks shaping responsible business, including the UN Global Compact, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and connect them to core business functions (such as marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain). Students will build literacy in the major dimensions of sustainability: carbon and climate, water stewardship, waste and circularity, sustainable supply chains, labor and human rights, and chemical safety.
