Energy bands in metals and semiconductors, dynamics of electrons, Fermi surfaces and transport properties of solids, magnetism, screening in electron gas, optical properties. Course Format: Lectures, 3 hours per week; tutorial, 1 hour per week. Prerequisite(s): PHYS 4P70 Course Notes: This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery.
