Graduate Proseminar

Have you ever wondered what your advisor struggled with as a graduate student, or what they're struggling with now? Growing Up in Science is a conversation series in which faculty share the personal narrative of becoming and being a scientist. Speakers do not present their research. Instead, they tell their life story with attention to the struggles, failures, doubts, detours, and lucky breaks that never appear on a CV: impostor feelings, rejection, procrastination, conflicts with advisors, career uncertainty, and work-life balance.
