Introduction to Biomedical Device and Technology Development

Development of biomedical devices and technology following the Biodesign Process from needs finding to concept screening. Topics may include needs finding and screening, concept generation, concept selection from various perspectives such as regulatory considerations, the role of biomedical engineering, the industrial landscape, and the Canadian health-care system. The course concentrates on both existing case studies and new venture ideas. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Minor or Major in Biomedical Engineering.
