Microorganisms can contribute to a more sustainable energy future. Their impact and roles in the fossil fuel industry will be reviewed. Topics will include oilfield souring, biocorrosion, biodegradation, enhanced recovery, upgrading, and bioremediation of contaminated sites. Prerequisite(s): Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology 343.
