ENCH 678
CO2 Capture, Utilization and Storage - Principles and Technologies
Exploring the role of carbon capture, utilization and storage in achieving net-zero emissions, with a focus on integrating foundational concepts of the carbon cycle with advanced technologies for capturing, converting, and storing CO2. Analyzing carbon capture systems (absorption, adsorption, membranes, oxy-fuel combustion, chemical looping), and CO2 utilization pathways (including physical, thermochemical, electrochemical, biological and photochemical conversion). Introduction to negative emission technologies. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Engineering Practice I or II, with a specialization in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage.
