BEE 4270
Water Measurement and Analysis Methods
In this field-based course, students will observe, measure, and sample aquatic environments to determine chemical and physical characteristics of water quality. The course will pair sensor data with samples brought back to the laboratory for chemical analysis. It includes both the quantification and interpretation of water measurements to facilitate decision-making in water shed management. This course prepares students to contribute meaningfully to the science and stewardship of water resources.
Topics
- Students will display an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences (ABET 3).
- Students will improve their ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgement to draw conclusions (ABET 6).
