Impact Investing and Venture Capital Seminar

1.0 credits · Graduate

Build ventures that are both investable and high-impact while thinking like an investor and designing like a founder. This intensive, four-session studio explores impact investing through diligence, venture selection, fundraising strategy, and fund design. Apply practical frameworks from philanthropy, venture capital, and public-sector investing; participate in a live investing simulation; and use community insights to strengthen product-market fit and assess risk. Open to technical, design, MBA, and other students, the seminar supports future founders, investors, operators, product leaders, public-sector technologists, and nonprofit builders. Sessions emphasize collaborative workshops, discussions, simulations, and case comparisons. Combining investor-style memos with founder-style sprints, students develop immediately usable tools for raising and allocating capital in mission-driven technology and integrating capital and policy into their work.
