ECH 6709
Electrochemical Engineering: Fundamentals and Design
Electrochemical phenomena are covered from an engineering perspective. Principles of thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and transport phenomena are extended to electrochemical systems. Topics include electrode potentials and kinetics, mass transport, interfacial phenomena, and spatiotemporal current and potential distribution in complex electrochemical architectures. Applications span batteries, fuel cells, corrosion, semiconductor electrodes, and emerging electrochemical systems.
