Investment Banking

1.5 Credits · Level: Graduate, Undergraduate

The objective of this course is to provide an introduction to investment banking. The course will be useful to students who are interested in pursuing careers in investment banking or in corporations working with investment banks. The course will provide highly practical information, as well as theoretical information, regarding valuation methodologies, the equity and debt capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, LBOs and restructurings. Since there are other courses on Fixed Income and Private Equity, we will only cover these topics briefly, and we will spend most of our time on valuation, equity capital markets, and restructurings. We also will discuss the current market environment, current transactions and the ramifications for investment bankers and their clients.
