International Negotiation Lab

1 Credit · Level: Graduate, Undergraduate

The International Negotiation Lab allows students to simulate intensive, multi-party negotiations to address the longstanding political, economic, and territorial dispute related to Cyprus. Run by the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD) and the School of Foreign Service Dean's office, the all-day exercise takes place on February 10th, 2018. It is based on a hypothetical, yet plausible, scenario related to Cyprus set a year in the future. Participants will negotiate the conflict related to the control of natural gas in Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone. Students are divided into 7 teams and participants in the simulation will gain experience in high-level diplomatic negotiations.
