Facilitating Group Processes
Using a workshop- and participatory-based approach, this immersive 1-credit module examines the facilitation of group processes, from inter-group dialogue to team meetings and town halls. Through exercises, reflective practice, group work, and hands-on simulations, students develop practical skills and strategies for building trust, integrating multiple perspectives, promoting clarity and organization of thought, navigating power differences, addressing emotional charge, organizing around issues and outcomes, and staying focused towards process outcomes. Effective facilitation of group processes has wide application in traditional peacebuilding fields, advocacy, government, business, and beyond.
