Introduction to Policy Writing

Level: Graduate, Undergraduate

This course provides the foundation in policy writing that enables students to succeed on their writing assignments in McCourt classes and in communication and writing in their careers. Students will learn to distinguish policy writing from other kinds of writing; get familiar with common forms of writing and communication in the policy field; and practice writing compelling policy memos. Students will benefit from free formative feedback on their work to improve holistically as writers and communicators. This course consists of four two-week modules, and students are required to complete the first module and at least two out of the three following modules.
