SPAN 2126

MULTI Intermed II and Advanced

3 Credits · Level: Undergraduate

This language course is designed for students with intermediate or advanced knowledge to enhance Spanish skills in the areas of oral comprehension, reading, writing and speaking within the pre-professional contexts they plan to pursue beyond college. This course will use a combination of classroom, cultural and experiential learning opportunities in DC (such as excursions to restaurants, theaters, embassies etc.) to improve students’ accuracy and effective communication in Spanish through exposure to daily, practical situations. This course will also allow students to develop Spanish-language practice with emphasis on their proposed professions which will include, but not be limited to, fields such as public policy, government, law, economics and international affairs. The primary components of the course will be vocabulary, language awareness and student participation, along with the incorporation of film, music and cultural studies. Following this semester-long course, should students wish to continue Spanish study on the Main Campus, a placement test will be required to determine level.
