Global Economics for Managers

1.5 Credits · Level: Graduate

Global Economics for Managers equips you to make better strategic decisions in a world where supply chains, capital, and policy shocks routinely reshape competition. The course builds a practical toolkit for analyzing how global industries are organized and why production, investment, and innovation locate where they do. We connect economic fundamentals to managerial choices: where to place operations, when to offshore or integrate, how to assess foreign investment opportunities, and how to anticipate the impact of trade policy, macro conditions, and exchange-rate movements on costs, demand, and risk. Across lectures and case discussions, you will apply frameworks from international trade, foreign direct investment, and macroeconomic policy to real business environments. By the end of the course, you should be able to diagnose how global economic forces shape industry structure—and translate that diagnosis into clearer decisions about strategy, resilience, and growth.
