Hydraulics of Sediment Transport

Hydrodynamic forces on particles, settling velocity. Sediment transport in open channel: tractive force theory, bed load and suspension theory, total load and wash load. Bedform mechanics, cohesive channel hydraulics. Sediment transport in closed conduits. Shore processes and coastline hydraulics. Students cannot receive credit for both CEE 325 and 425. Prerequisites: CEE 222
