CSE 376
Distributed Systems
Exploration of theoretical and practical aspects of topics in distributed systems through a combination of readings, programming assignments, and projects. The main focal point is large distributed systems, in particular protocols to synchronize the activities of machines when operating over shared data. Techniques to ensure fault-tolerance and service-availability will also be discussed. Using distributed systems as a foundation, students gain skills in the design of complex, multilayered systems. Credit will not be given for both CSE 376 and CSE 476 . Prerequisites: CSE 303 and CSE 340 and ( CSE 241 or CSE 242 or CSE 341 or CSE 375 ) Attribute/Distribution: Q
