Overview of network security threats and vulnerabilities. Techniques and tools for detecting, responding to and recovering from security incidents. Fundamentals of cryptography. Hands-on experience with programming techniques for security protocols. This course, a version of CSE 343 for graduate students, requires research projects and advanced assignments. Credit will not be given for both CSE 343 and CSE 443 . Prerequisites: ( CSE 404 or ECE 404 ) or CSE 271 or CSE 202 or CSE 342
