ECE 421
Introduction to Power Systems
Power systems engineering relating to generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electric power. This course introduces basic yet critical concepts of large-scale power systems. Topics include power system modeling, power flow, symmetrical faults, unsymmetrical faults, transient stability, and optimal power flow. This course, a version of ECE 321 for graduate students, requires research projects and advanced assignments. ECE 321 and ECE 421 may not both be taken for credit. Prerequisites: ECE 123
