Political Economy of Post-Communist Transitions and European Integration
Central and Eastern Europe, which was once ruled by communist regimes supported by the Soviet Union, underwent radical political and economic transformations in the 1990s. For the first time after decades of communism, East European countries held competitive elections, introduced market principles in their economies, and joined European institutions. This course focuses on the analysis of post-communist economic transitions and the region’s economic integration with the European Union. Attribute/Distribution: Q, SS
