ARCH 3200
Community Archaeology
introduces a collaborative practice where local communities engage with archaeologists to design, implement, and interpret research. Applications are wide-ranging, dependent on local goals such as community development, climate change, social justice, and Indigenous reconciliation. Using examples primarily drawn from Newfoundland and Labrador, the course focuses on the challenges and benefits of this approach and considers the role of archaeologists in the 21st century and our obligations to society as a whole.
