Freight, Logistics, and Supply Chain Systems: Analysis, Modeling, and Design
Examines the modeling, analysis, and design of freight transportation, logistics, and supply chain systems through real decision problems drawn from practice and research. Covers problem definition and model formulation; freight demand and data; strategic network, service network, routing, inventory, fulfillment, and resilient system design; and optimization, queueing, simulation, and learning based solution approaches. Emphasizes critical evaluation of modeling assumptions, selection of solution methods, and computational and managerial trade-offs at industrial scale. Includes research-paper discussions, computational recitations, and development and defense of an original research proposal.
