Adaptation to Climate Change
Addresses how to design adaptation solutions in response to regional climate change. Two specific case studies from Africa (Morocco) and Asia (Bangladesh) provide context. Covers the theory and observations of global climate change, regional climates for the two cases, and projections of its impact on the climate in the two regions during the 21st century. Presents ongoing research at MIT in designing climate change adaptation solutions to address emerging challenges regarding water availability, soil salinity, cyclones, and extreme heatwaves. Students engage in projects focusing on the two case studies. Students taking graduate version complete additional assignments.
