Common Experience in Operations Research

Provides students with experience working in teams on a data-driven ML/AI project in an operational context. After a week of classes that cover a range of tools (e.g., agentic systems, deep learning, etc.) and OR/ML/AI concepts, students compete in teams on a project in which they build and critically analyze the performance of a prototype solution for a given operational issue. Short homework assignments help students get acquainted with the required tools and concepts, and regular presentations foster interactions within the ORC cohort. Restricted to Operations Research Center doctoral students.
