Product Management Lab

2-0-7 units · Graduate

Action learning for students wanting a deeper dive into product management (PM) through experiential learning applying classroom concepts to real-world PM challenges. Guided by project management milestones, students apply relevant skills, tools, and frameworks (including AI tools) which are covered in 15.785 and Sloan core courses. Student teams of three or four are matched with host companies and an Alumni PM Mentor and contribute to a PM-related project with the host company. Majority of projects are remote. IAP activity is primarily devoted to intensive project work with regular Mentor and Host check-ins, all continuing throughout the spring semester. Class sessions in spring include team project working time, guest speakers, and team check-ins to dig deeper into problem solving, use of PM tools, and effective management and communication strategies.
