Systems Thinking and Complex Problem Solving
Provides instruction in both principle-based and experience-based approaches to systems architecting. For the former, students use design principles to develop concepts for large and complex systems; for the latter, heuristic-based insights and problem-solving strategies are applied to large and complex national defense systems. Interactive lectures and in-class projects guide participants in addressing and solving unfamiliar large and complex problems. Students taking graduate version complete projects individually; students taking undergraduate version work in groups.
