Computational Bioengineering
Introduction to computational biology concepts and algorithms. Topics include: sequence analysis, sequence alignment, clustering, binary search trees, classification, and prediction. While computation is centered in the subject, biological questions always frame the application and interpretation of the material. Assignments focus on understanding how foundational algorithms in computational biology are used to test biological hypotheses with a strong emphasis on interpretation of results. Assumes basic knowledge of programming (experience with R or Python is recommended).
