Algorithms and Interactions for Human-AI Music Making
Research seminar exploring algorithms and interactions needed to design systems that support human-AI creative partnerships in music making. Topics on algorithms include: generative modeling, learning from human feedback, reinforcement learning (RL), and social RL. Topics on interactions include: interactive systems, visualizations, interpretability, human-AI communication and collaboration. Experience programming in Python and/or Javascript and running machine learning models highly recommended. Students carry out a term-long research project that culminates in a journal-quality paper. Students taking graduate version complete additional assignments.
