3.25
Physical Chemistry of Materials
Covers the fundamental chemical and physical principles governing material behavior across atomic and macroscopic scales. Introduces the laws of thermodynamics, state functions, and Maxwell relations, along with phases, phase equilibria, and phase diagrams. Presents statistical mechanics as a framework for connecting atomic-scale phenomena to macroscopic properties. Includes chemical thermodynamics, chemical potentials, energy of mixing, and kinetic rate theory describing atomic-scale reaction processes.
