Program of research leading to the writing of an SM, EE, ECS, PhD, or ScD thesis; to be arranged by the student and an appropriate MIT faculty member or approved research supervisor. For graduate students with EECS as the joint department and in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program, a WHOI faculty member or WHOI research staff member may also be appropriate.
