Computational Motor Control
Examines the fundamental principles of how humans and animals achieve sensorimotor control using computational modeling and biological theory. Teaches how to generate a physics-based simulation of a biological sensorimotor agent. Covers the computational goals, sensory feedback, biological mechanisms, and physical constraints that govern movement in living systems, drawing parallels with engineered systems. Explores how animals achieve efficient, stable, and adaptive movements through modeling activities. Emphasizes computational approaches, but also provides a biological overview of the relevant sensorimotor systems and neural bases of control. Students taking graduate version complete additional assignments. Limited to 30.
