WGS.290
Topics in Trans Studies
Follows a trajectory of topics: trans histories and practices of historicization; deep exploration of trans embodiment and biomedicine; socio-legal concerns and navigations; and media representation, activism, and futurity. Within each topic, the subject moves from situating the theme in a United States or local perspective into addressing global, and especially Global South, perspectives. Assessments include reflective exercises, a mapping activity, and a final project exploring a theme selected by the student. Enrollment limited to 30.
