Prereq: MATH 2211; or permission of the Department This course introduces the theory of numbers. Topics may include: the Euclidean algorithm, the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic, congruences, diophantine equations, Fermat and Wilson Theorems, quadratic residues, continued fractions, and the Prime Number Theorem. (Format: Lecture 3 Hours)
