ELECTRO-, PHOTO-, AND BIO-CHEMICAL INTERFACES IN ENERGY AND CATALYTIC SYSTEMS
This course introduces the principles and analytical methods for materials and interfaces in electrochemical, photochemical, and biochemical systems. Topics include fundamental principles at charged material interfaces (thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport); in situ and ex situ experimental and spectroscopic methods for interfacial characterization; machine learning (ML) and data-driven approaches for experimental analysis; and design strategies for energy conversion, catalysis, and bio-electrochemical systems. Emphasis is placed on connecting fundamental concepts and models with real-world materials and applications through lectures, discussions, and analysis of current research. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: CHBE 462 . Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for CHBE 562 if student has credit for CHBE 462 .
