This course will survey the primary literature on the identity and activity of microorganisms in a variety of contaminated environments. Topics that will be covered include, but are not limited to, oil spills, acid mine drainage, groundwater arsenic, and uranium bioremediation. This primarily discussion-based course will blend introductory lectures, journal article discussions, and student presentations. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: EEPS 639 .
