Biology of Cancer

An introduction to the problem of cancer, emphasizing the cellular and molecular biology of carcinogenesis in humans. The multi- causal, multi-step nature of the process will be highlighted, including the role of viruses, oncogenes, carcinogens and ionizing radiations. Prerequisites: BIOL 204; BIOL 201 or BIOL 251/252. Three credits and lab. Not offered 2026-2027. See BIOL 381.
